No. It can read your store data. It can’t change it.
Read access, no write permission
Altvary asks Shopify for read access and has no write permission. It can’t edit, create or delete your products, orders, customers or inventory.
Nothing installed on your storefront
No tracking pixel, no theme script, no browsing data. Altvary works from your Shopify records.
Scores customers and recommends a decision
Altvary scores each customer and works out a recommended decision: who, why, which product, and what to do.
Consent decides who it may decide about
Altvary decides about customers whose Shopify record says they subscribed to marketing. Other consent states are treated as no permission.
Drafts suggested wording with an AI service
To draft wording, Altvary sends an AI writing service the customer’s first name and a short summary of the opportunity: their lifecycle segment, skin or buyer profile, order count and lifetime spend, the reason they were chosen, the recommended product, any discount you set and the expected contribution. It does not send their email address.
Not sold, not used for advertising
Altvary doesn’t sell or rent your data or use it for advertising.
Connecting Klaviyo is optional. When you connect, Altvary sends customer opportunity data to your own Klaviyo account so your flow can deliver the message. Altvary doesn’t send the email itself.
What Altvary sends to your Klaviyo account
Your team
The people in your Altvary workspace: the person who installed it and anyone invited to the team.
Kept separate from other stores
Each store’s data is kept separate from other stores’.
Service providers
Altvary uses service providers to run the app, store its data and draft wording. They are listed in the Privacy Policy.
Connection credentials
The credentials that connect Altvary to your Shopify store and your Klaviyo account are stored encrypted.
When you uninstall
Altvary can no longer read your Shopify store, and its connection to your Klaviyo account is removed.
48 hours later
Shopify asks Altvary to delete your store’s data. Reinstall within that time and your setup is kept.
Sooner, if you ask
To have it deleted sooner, email us.
A customer asks to be erased
Altvary deletes that customer and the records attached to them: orders, scores and their history, actions, deliveries, suppression entries, and message copy written for them.
A customer asks for their data
The request is recorded when Shopify sends it, and a person compiles the data and provides it to you.
It reads the public product list any shopper’s browser can load. No account, no connection, and no customer, order or revenue data.
